When I created On The Map, I had a clear idea of what I wanted to do, I just needed to find my way there, a mission statement felt like a good starting point.
To create a movement based on creativity, life’s journey and reducing homelessness. Creating products, which connect us to our community, location and our own unique personal story, whilst striving to help others to get their own piece of the map. Using this movement to provide support to people in need, by working with organisations who help to get people safely off the street and back On The Map.
With the current situation, it feels even more important that people have a safe place On The Map. I'm fortunate to live in a secure, stable home with love and support and I believe that everyone should have that opportunity. I'm so grateful that by being on this journey with me, sharing my vision, and purchasing my products, together, WE are helping others.
At the end of May, the inspiring charity Signposts opened their new accommodation in Luton early in response to the pandemic. With 45 rooms, this supported accommodation gives people who have been sleeping rough a safe warm bedroom of their own, but also showers, laundry facilities, and three meals a day, plus all the ongoing support they need to get their lives back on track, so they can take the next step on their journey.
Because of you wonderful people, I was able to donate £100 to this project and I am looking forward to supporting them more moving forward, so watch this space! Thank you!
